Art Collection Celebrates the Spirit of Joondalup
Macmahon’s Mitchell Freeway team will unveil a series of original paintings by leading Joondalup artists at a five day exhibition at the Blender Gallery next week.
The exclusive collection will be open for public viewing before the works are auctioned at the annual Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) Foundation Ball, in November.
The artworks are expected to raise thousands of dollars to fund vital health equipment at the hospital, including a specialist microscope for the Plastic Surgery Theatre.
Macmahon’s Community Relations Advisor Craig Howarth said the exhibition was an exciting way for the freeway construction team to support the community and celebrate the diversity, talent and uniqueness of Joondalup.
“We realised, through the freeway project, how passionate Joondalup residents are about public art so the team decided to put this collection together as a way of supporting local artists while raising money for a very good cause,” Craig said.
The exhibition will be held from Tuesday, 22 July until Sunday, 27 July at the Blender Gallery and Workshop, on Central Avenue in Joondalup. The gallery will be open from 10am to 2pm during week days and weekend and will be extend its hours from 7pm to 9pm on Friday evening.
Work is nearing completion on the Mitchell Freeway Joondalup project with the 4km extension, from Hodges Drive to Burns Beach Road, expected to open within the next few months.
