Bridging the Gap
Motorists and pedestrians are now able to cross the new Hodges Drive Bridge with the westbound lane opening on the 30 April.
Around 380 cubic metres of concrete has been poured to form solid deck slabs for the foundations of the bridge and 16 pre-cast beams have been assembled for optimum structural durability. In the lead up to opening the westbound lane, the team has been busy laying the road asphalt, line marking the lanes and fitting handrails and guardrails to the sides of the footpaths for the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.
Eastbound lanes will open once work on the underpass is completed.
